Before - Note the entire second story is overhanging the carport with no earthquake protection (sitting on posts without shear strength). A strong left-right displacement would topple the second floor (and bedrooms above).
After (in progress) - Shear walls installed on back and side wall to tie the second floor to the sill plates.
